TGSRTC Tarnaka Hospital launches cardiac Cath Lab and emergency unit

Hyderabad: The TGSRTC Hospital in Tarnaka has launched new cardiac care services with the addition of a Cath Lab, along with the expansion of its emergency care facilities, including a newly inaugurated 12-bed Emergency Care Unit. The inauguration ceremony was held on Friday, with TGSRTC Managing Director V.C. Sajjanar presiding over the event.
The Cath Lab at the hospital has been established with support from the FACTS Foundation, while Ashok Leyland contributed to the development of the Critical Cardiac Care Unit. The Emergency Care Unit expansion was made possible through financial assistance from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), with support from the NGO Nirmaan.org.
In his speech, Managing Director V.C. Sajjanar highlighted the importance of employee health for the organization, stating that TGSRTC’s strength lies in the well-being of its workforce. He also highlighted the hospital’s transformation into a super-specialty facility that offers advanced medical services on par with corporate hospitals, setting a benchmark for other RTCs in the country.
Sajjanar noted that the hospital’s outpatient numbers had significantly increased, from 600 daily visits in 2021 to nearly 2,000 currently.
He acknowledged the contributions of IOC, FACTS Foundation, and Ashok Leyland in establishing the Cath Lab, Critical Cardiac Care Unit, and expanded Emergency Care Unit, all aimed at enhancing the health security of TGSRTC employees.
The Tarnaka Hospital now offers a comprehensive range of services, including a fully-equipped MRI and CT scan facility, a 24-hour pharmacy, a physiotherapy unit, and an emergency ward. The addition of the Cath Lab completes the hospital’s range of essential healthcare services under one roof.
As part of the “Grand Health Challenge,” the hospital conducted medical check-ups for employees and their spouses, resulting in the creation of health profiles for 900 individuals. This initiative helped identify individuals with serious health conditions, allowing them to receive immediate care at the hospital, potentially saving lives.
Sajjanar reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to using technology to improve healthcare services for employees and promised that more health-focused initiatives would be introduced in the future.
The event was attended by TGSRTC Executive Directors Munishekar and Venkanna, Tarnaka Hospital Superintendent Dr. Shailaja Murthy, Medical Administrator Dr. Srinivas, as well as representatives from IOC, FACTS Foundation, Ashok Leyland, and Nirmaan Organization.
