TGSRTC introduces eco-friendly electric AC buses for IT employees in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has launched six Green Metro Luxury Electric AC buses for IT corridor commuters, bringing a new eco-friendly travel option to the city. V.C. Sajjanar, the Managing Director of TGSRTC, made the announcement on March 3, 2025, via the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
Sajjanar’s post read: “Good news for #Hyderabad IT employees! TGSRTC introduces six Green Metro Luxury Electric AC buses for IT corridor commuters! Comfortable and eco-friendly travel for IT professionals.”
Starting today, software employees and daily commuters along the IT Corridor can travel in comfort on the 216W and 216G routes.
• 216W: Lingampally to Mehdipatnam via Nallagandla, Wipro Circle, Nanakramguda, Khajaguda, Tolichowki, and Mehdipatnam.
• 216G: Lingampally to Lakshmi Gar via Nallagandla, Q City, Wipro Circle, and Lakshmi Gar.
In addition to the new bus services, TGSRTC has introduced a range of discounts on its bus services between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. A 10% discount is available on Lahari-Non-AC sleeper-cum-seater and Super Luxury services, while an 8% discount is being offered on Rajadhani AC buses. These discounts can be availed through advance reservations on the official TGSRTC website at www.tgsrtcbus.in. In another move to enhance convenience for commuters, TGSRTC has launched the TGSRTC Gamyam app, designed to track rides and locate nearby bus stops. The app aims to improve the daily commute experience, as highlighted in a recent post on X, “Your daily commute just got smarter with the TGSRTC Gamyam app.”
