Hyderabad: TGSRTC to run 2,243 buses

HYDERABAD:Â The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will operate 2,243 special buses for Maha Shivaratri to ensure smooth travel for devotees.
Maha Shivaratri falls on February 15. The special services will run from February 14 to February 16.
Services to key temples across Telangana
Of the total, 781 buses will operate to Srisailam, 416 to Vemulawada, 249 to Edupayala, 326 to Keesaragutta, 127 to Velaal and 71 to Kaleshwaram. Another 273 buses will connect Komuravelli, Alampur, Umamaheswaram, Palakurthi, Ramappa and other temples.
In Hyderabad, special buses to Srisailam will be available from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), Jubilee Bus Station (JBS), CBS, IS Sadan, KPHB and BHEL.
The corporation will set up shamianas, chairs, drinking water facilities and public address systems at major boarding points.
Revised fares for special buses
As per the state government’s order, ticket fares for special buses have been revised up to 1.5 times. There will be no change in regular service fares.
The revised fares will apply only to special buses operating from February 14 to February 16. For services to Edupayala, revised fares will be in force from February 15 to February 17.
Special buses will carry display boards on the front for the convenience of passengers.
TGSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy, IPS, reviewed Shivaratri operations with senior officials. He directed officers to ensure that devotees travelling to Shaivite temples face no inconvenience.
The corporation will operate 208 more buses than last year’s Shivaratri. Field-level officers have been instructed to arrange additional services depending on rush.
Women will continue to receive free travel in Pallevelugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses, as per the state government order. Women passengers have been advised to obtain zero tickets during travel.
Advance reservation has been provided for special buses from Hyderabad to Srisailam. Tickets can be booked at www.tgsrtcbus.in.
