Thirty Nine TGSP personnel suspended for indiscipline: ADGP Sanjay Kumar Jain
Hyderabad: Within hours after Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender warned Telangana State Special Police (TGSP) of ‘indiscipline in uniform’, Additional DGP, TGSP Sanjay Kumar suspended 39 TGSP personnel citing ‘misconduct’ on Saturday.
According to the official statement released by Jain, the last few days some TGSP personnel have conducted agitations inside the Battalion campus and on streets of several places including Hyderabad in Telangana.
“With a view to uphold discipline and integrity within TGSP, the following personnel involved in misconduct are suspended for unbecoming of government servants, including incitement of agitation among Battalion personnel. They violated conduct rules and engaged in behavior contrary to the one expected from government servants,” said Jain.
The suspended personnel allegedly instigated unrest within the Battalion, affecting morale and operational efficiency. Such actions undermine the disciplinary framework and tarnish the image of the uniformed force dedicated to maintaining peace and security in Telangana, added the official statement.
TGSP protests led to mass suspensions
The Telangana Police remain committed to maintaining strict discipline and taking corrective measures against misconduct. Further, a thorough investigation is underway.
In the backdrop of agitation of TGSP personnel, senior officials have been directed to closely monitor Battalion activities and ensure a positive working environment. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against personnel violating conduct rules. The Telangana Special Police reaffirms its commitment to upholding public trust and accountability through adherence to its core values of Duty, Compassion and Honour.
Earlier, DGP Jitender said in an official statement, “Indiscipline in uniformed forces is a serious matter that attracts provisions of the Police Forces (Restrictions of Rights) Act and the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act and is liable to be penalised as per law.”
Further, the DGP appealed to TGSP personnel and their families that we are examining grievances on merits, and personnel are urged to carry out their duties as usual. If there are any concerns, they can be raised in the “Darbar” with the officers/Commandants/ADGP TGSP and other senior officers.
