Telangana PSC mandates OTR update for new recruitments

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Public Service Commission has made it mandatory for all registered candidates to update and validate their One Time Registration (OTR) data ahead of upcoming recruitment notifications.
OTR data to be basis for all future recruitments
The Commission said it has completed the selection process for all pending recruitment notifications and is preparing to issue new notifications shortly. In this context, it has decided to update and validate candidate data in the OTR system.
The decision follows recent developments, including Scheduled Castes categorisation, changes in educational qualifications acquired by candidates, and repeated requests for correction of candidate details.
31.5 lakh candidates registered in OTR system
At present, around 31.5 lakh candidates are registered in the OTR system. The Commission said all future notifications, applications, results and final selections will be processed strictly based on data available in the OTR.
The exercise aims to ensure faster completion of recruitment processes, early declaration of results and timely issue of appointment orders, while avoiding delays due to data discrepancies or incomplete documentation.
Mandatory updation window and instructions
All candidates registered with the Commission must verify the correctness of their personal, educational and category details, update all eligible and additional qualifications, and upload relevant certificates, including a latest colour passport-size photograph.
As earlier announced, the updation process began on January 19, 2026, through the Commission’s official website. The deadline has now been extended up to February 25, 2026.
Each candidate is permitted to hold only one OTR, which remains valid until cancelled by the Commission or by the candidate. Except for additional qualifications, correspondence address, Economically Weaker Sections status, Non-Creamy Layer details, mobile number and email ID, all other fields are non-editable.
Candidates have been advised to exercise caution while updating details and uploading documents. If a candidate holds multiple or additional qualifications, all such details must be updated with supporting certificates.
The Commission clarified that information furnished in the OTR will be treated as primary and final data for all future recruitment notifications.
Candidates who fail to update their OTR data and upload the required certificates within the stipulated period will not be permitted to apply for forthcoming recruitment notifications.
