Telangana Pollution Control Board issues stop production order to Shreejee Industries over pollution violations
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) has directed Shreejee Industries, Katepally(v) of Yadadri district, to immediately stop all its industrial activities, citing violations of consent conditions and severe air pollution in the surrounding area.
In its order, issued under Section 33(A) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, as amended in 1988, the Board said the company had failed to comply with earlier directions.
The order, dated September 11, 2025, stated: “The Board is of the firm opinion that the industry is not complying with Board directions and consent conditions, resulting in severe air pollution in the surrounding area. The Board hereby issues stop production orders in the interest of protecting public health and the environment.”

Prosecution warning

TGPCB also warned that continuing operations despite the order would invite legal action. “If you continue to operate your industry even after receipt of these orders, you will be liable for prosecution in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate or Judicial Magistrate of the first class under Section 41(2) of the Water Act, 1974. The punishment includes imprisonment for a term not less than one year six months, extendable up to six years, along with a fine,” the order said.
Officials said the action was taken after repeated inspections revealed non-compliance with emission control norms.
