TGFWDA: Over 700 free rides provided on New Year’s eve

Hyderabad: As part of the ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’ campaign, over 700 free rides were provided by the Telangana Four Wheeler Driver’s Association (TGFWDA) and the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU).

Shaik Salauddin, State President of TGFWDA and TGPWU, stated, “Drunken driving poses a serious threat to public safety. We are thrilled by the overwhelming success of the #DontDrinkAndDrive campaign conducted on 31st December.”

The campaign deployed over 500 four-wheeler cabs and 250 bike taxis on New Year’s Eve, offering free transportation across Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda limits.
Salauddin shared that a total of 789 free rides were provided, ensuring citizens reached home safely. Additionally, the initiative received 2,458 calls, showcasing the immense need and appreciation for this initiative.

He further noted, “Since 2017, our organization has been championing road safety through the ‘Hum Aapke Saath Hai’ Public Service Campaign. Over the past eight years, we have saved countless lives from road accidents caused by drunk driving.”

Salauddin also expressed gratitude to the drivers who contributed to this initiative. He said, “Your unwavering dedication has been instrumental in making our roads safer and saving lives. TGFWDA and TGPWU are proud to support the citizens of Telangana in celebrating a safe and responsible New Year. We remain committed to promoting road safety and look forward to continuing this mission together.”
