HYDERABAD: The Telangana government will launch a new digital platform, “TG Organics”, on May 4 to enable direct purchase of organic produce from certified farmers, aiming to eliminate intermediaries and curb fake organic products in the market.

Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao will formally launch the application in Tandur, officials said.

Direct farmer-to-consumer link to ensure transparency

The app will allow buyers to connect directly with government-certified organic farmers. Only farmers verified under official certification systems will be listed, reducing the scope for mislabelled or counterfeit organic produce.

Users can search for products within a 50 km radius using location-based features. This is expected to improve accessibility and reduce logistics costs for both farmers and consumers.

Over 500 farmers onboarded with 100+ products listed

More than 500 farmers and over 100 organic products have already been registered on the platform ahead of its launch. Officials said the number is expected to grow as more certified farmers join.

The initiative is part of the state’s broader push to promote organic farming and ensure better price realisation for growers.

According to official data, Telangana currently has more than 10,000 organic farmers cultivating around 50,000 acres under certification.
