TG EAPCET 2026: Test zones frozen in five Telangana districts after surge in applications
HYDERABAD: Students appearing for the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET) 2026 will not be able to select test zones in five districts after authorities froze them due to excess applications.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Hyderabad, which is conducting TG EAPCET 2026, has frozen test zones in Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Sangareddy, Adilabad and Nizamabad districts.
Authorities said the number of applications received from these districts has exceeded the available capacity at examination centres.
“Since these zones have received more applications than the capacity, they have been frozen. These zones will not reflect during the fresh registration,” said Vijaya Kumar Reddy, convener of TG EAPCET 2026.
Candidates must choose test zones in order of preference during registration. Based on the selected preferences and the availability of slots, the test centres are allotted.
Registration crosses 96,000 applications
As reported by The Times of India, a total of 96,892 students have registered for TG EAPCET 2026 so far.
Of these, 64,861 candidates applied for the engineering stream, while 31,918 applied for Agriculture and Pharmacy (A&P). Another 113 candidates submitted applications for both streams.
The last date to apply without a late fee through the official website is April 4. Candidates will be allowed to edit their applications from April 6 to 8.
Applications will be accepted with a late fee of ₹250 until April 10 and ₹500 until April 15.
Late fee registrations and exam schedule
Candidates can also submit applications with a late fee of ₹2,500 and ₹5,000 until April 20 and April 24 respectively.
JNTU Hyderabad has also reintroduced the provision to apply with a late fee of ₹10,000. Such applications will be accepted between April 25 and May 2.
Candidates registering with late fees of ₹2,500, ₹5,000 or ₹10,000 will be allotted test centres in the Hyderabad IV zone, Reddy said.
Hall tickets for the Agriculture and Pharmacy entrance test will be available for download from April 23. Hall tickets for the engineering stream will be released on April 27.
The Agriculture and Pharmacy examination will be conducted on May 4 and May 5, while the engineering entrance test will take place from May 9 to May 11.
