Tension Grips Masab Tank

Hyderabad: Tension arose in the Masab Tank area on Saturday night after some passersby noticed pieces of meat lying near a temple.

Alarmed upon finding the meat near the place of worship at Pochamma Basthi, the passerby alerted the temple’s management, who later informed the police. The police visited the temple immediately and cordoned off the area.

Subsequently, the police team started analyzing the CCTV footage of the surveillance cameras in the vicinity. The analysis revealed that a few stray dogs had dragged the pieces of meat which ended up on the temple premises.

Following the recent vandalism incident at the Exhibition Ground in Nampally, the police acted swiftly and launched a full investigation. Their prompt action led to the arrest of Krishnaiah Goud, the accused.

The investigation revealed that Goud is a vagabond and mentally challenged person. He was hungry and visited the pandal after midnight to find some food near the idol. According to Central Zone DCP Akshansh Yadav, the accused vandalized the idol when he found nothing to eat there. The police also booked the pandal organizers for their failure as rules mandate the presence of volunteers round the clock at the pandal.
