Telugu states floods: Airtel supports customers with extended validity, free data
Hyderabad: While both the Telugu states are reeling under the flood situation with incessant rains in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the mobile network company, Airtel has announced certain offers in the Telugu states.
In order to help the victims of floods, Airtel has extended validity to most of its existing plans and is releasing free mobile data for its customers, so that they maintain their network.
In an official statement, Airtel announced that “The unprecedented rains in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have disrupted normal life. To help our customers stay connected during this difficult time, Airtel is implementing some measures”
What are the benefits?
All the prepaid customers of Airtel, whose validity has expired and are unable to recharge will receive 1.5 GB of free mobile data per day, along with unlimited calling. This benefit will be valid for 4 days.
For the postpaid customers, Airtel is extending the bill payment due dates for all impacted customers by 7 days, ensuring uninterrupted access to mobile services.
Meanwhile for the Prepaid Homes – the impacted customers whose validity has expired and are unable to recharge, will now receive a 4 days extra validity, ensuring uninterrupted access to home Wi-Fi services.
And for the Postpaid Homes – the Airtel extended the bill payment due dates for all impacted customers by 7 days, ensuring uninterrupted access to home Wi-Fi services.
Further, Airtel in its statement said, “Airtel’s network teams and partners continue making efforts to ensure the network is up and running despite the challenge of lack of power supply and disruption in movement of fuel supplies.”
The heavy to extremely heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc and it has left several water bodies including, rivers, lakes and ponds overflowing beyond their capacities, resulting in floods in several parts of the states. Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and Khammam in Telangana are severely hit by the floods.
