Telugu films line up for December 25 releases

HYDERABAD: Several Telugu films are set to hit theatres on December 25, the final Friday of 2025. While some big-ticket releases earlier this year fell short of expectations, smaller films surprised the box office. Here is a look at the movies releasing this Christmas.
Sports drama and horror dominate Christmas releases
Champion
Actor Srikanth’s son Roshan makes his debut as the lead in Champion, directed by Pradeep Advaitham. Anaswara Rajan plays the female lead. The film is a period sports action drama centred on football. It is produced by Swapna Cinema in association with Anandi Art Creations and Concept Films.

Shambhala
The makers of Shambhala describe it as a horror thriller backed by strong emotions. Aadi Saikumar stars in the film, directed by Yugandhar Muni. Archana Iyer, Swasika and Ravi Varma play key roles. The team says the film will feature unexpected twists.

Horror and commercial dramas join the slate
Eesha
Eesha explores the conflict that arises when a spirit takes over a human body. Akhil Raj, Trigun and Hebba Patel appear in lead roles. The film is directed by Srinivas Manne and releases on December 25.

Dhandoraa
The makers of Dhandoraa say the film blends emotions with a commercial narrative. Shivaji, Navdeep, Nandu and Ravi Krishna play important roles. The film is directed by Murali Kanth and produced by Ravindra Banerjee Muppaneni.

Youth-centric films target festive audience
Patang
A youth entertainer, Patang stars Preethi Pagadala, Pranav Kaushik and Vamsi Poojith. Directed by Praneeth Prathipati, the film is presented by D Suresh Babu and produced by Suresh Kothinti and Nani Bandreddi. Gautham Menon and S P Charan appear in key roles.

Bad Girlz
Directed by Phani Pradeep Dhulipudi of 30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela fame, Bad Girlz is a youth entertainer with the tagline “But very good girls”. Anchal Goud, Payal Chengappa, Roshini, Yashna and Rohan Surya play lead roles.

Dubbed films release in Telugu
Vrushabha
Malayalam star Mohanlal plays the lead in Vrushabha, directed by Nandakishore. Samyuktha Menon and Shanaya Kapoor appear in key roles. The father-son sentiment drama releases in Malayalam and Telugu on December 25, with Mohanlal seen in dual roles.

Mark
Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep stars in the crime drama Mark, directed by Vijay Karthikeya. The film releases in Kannada and Telugu on December 25. Sudeep plays a powerful police officer, with Naveen Chandra and Yogi Babu in supporting roles.
