Tellapur Residents Protest Delayed Completion Of Rr 30 Extension Road

Hyderabad: Over 300 residents of Tellapur staged a protest on March 2, 2025, demanding urgent attention to the RR-30 Extension Road, which has been in poor condition for over a decade. The road, filled with dust and potholes due to heavy truck traffic, has become a source of frustration for commuters and residents alike.

Organized by the Tellapur Neighbourhood Association (TeNA), the protest highlighted the ongoing neglect of the road. Residents, including children as young as five and senior citizens up to 80, took part in cleaning the road, filling potholes, and expressing their dissatisfaction with the authorities’ lack of action.

They alleged that despite paying taxes, their concerns have been ignored. Accidents on the incomplete road have claimed lives, yet there has been little response from the authorities to address the safety issues. The excessive movement of construction vehicles, which has worsened the condition of the road, is also causing severe dust pollution and respiratory problems for the community.

Ramana Eshwaragari, president of TeNA, spoke to the Hyderabad Mail, highlighted that the ongoing construction traffic is damaging the road further and exacerbating air quality issues. He also called for the authorities to set specific hours for the movement of large trucks.

The protestors carried placards and signed a memorandum urging Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take immediate action on the long-delayed project. They hope their collective effort will bring attention to the urgent need for road repairs and development in the area.
