Telangana cold wave eases as temperatures return to normal

HYDERABAD: The intense cold conditions that prevailed across Telangana over the past two months have largely subsided, with temperatures returning to near-normal levels, the weather department said.
Prolonged cold spell fades
Telangana witnessed one of its harshest winter spells in nearly two decades. The extended cold wave affected daily life, with many residents reporting health-related discomfort. For several weeks, minimum temperatures dipped sharply, forcing people to rely on sweaters and winter caps rarely used in recent years.
The weather department said the last two days recorded some of the lowest minimum temperatures of the season, before a gradual rise began.
Fog disruption reduces
Dense fog, which troubled motorists for several days, also eased. Low visibility had forced drivers to keep headlights on during early morning hours, leading to traffic disruptions in several areas.
Summer-like conditions ahead
The India Meteorological Department’s Hyderabad centre said current temperatures in Telangana are ranging between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are likely to remain two to three degrees above normal in the coming days.
Overall, weather conditions indicate that Telangana has moved out of the cold phase, with signs pointing to the onset of summer.
