Telangana Weatherman predicts intense heatwaves & occasional rains for Summer 2025

Hyderabad: Telangana’s weather expert, @balaji25_t, also known as the “Telangana Weatherman,” recently shared his predictions for Summer 2025, offering a glimpse of what residents can expect. He stated that the transition from La Niña to a neutral ENSO would make summer 2025 similar to the conditions observed in 2017 and 2018.
He explained that if the transition from La Niña shifts to a neutral ENSO, the summer will be severe, like the one experienced in 2017. While occasional rains might offer some short-term relief, they will not be consistent enough to alleviate the heat for long periods. However, if the shift moves towards a mild El Niño, summer will be moderate, with conditions comparable to 2018. This scenario would bring more frequent summer rains, offering some respite from the heat, though it could result in a weaker monsoon season.

According to the Telangana Weatherman, based on the current climate patterns, the early months of summer, including February, March, and the first half of April, are expected to experience intense heat and heatwaves. The second half of April and the first half of May may offer some relief, with occasional rains breaking the dry spell. However, the latter part of May and the first week of June are likely to see a return of heatwaves and higher temperatures.
He highlighted that strong summer conditions are crucial for a good monsoon, as the ENSO is expected to remain neutral during the monsoon season.
If you feel 2024 summer was the worst, then I say, 2014,15,16,17,19 summers were equally or warmer than 2024
It’s all the gap in intense summers during 2020,21,22,23 that made you all feel that 2024 summer was the terrible https://t.co/94WYqeZDb3

In a separate post, the weather expert compared the summer of 2024 to those of previous years, arguing that while it was perceived as the worst summer in recent memory, summers from 2014 to 2017 and 2019 were equally, if not more, intense. He attributed the heightened perception of 2024’s heat to the relatively mild summers experienced between 2020 and 2023.
