IMD forecasts thunderstorms across Telangana today

Telangana : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather update for Telangana, forecasting a mix of heat and thunderstorms over the next three days.
The department said a trough over the Bay of Bengal and south-westerly winds will influence weather conditions, leading to rainfall in parts of the state on Thursday. However, showers are expected only in isolated places, while other areas may continue to record high temperatures.
Heavy rain in several districts since midnight
Several districts in Telangana recorded heavy rainfall from midnight. In Hyderabad, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds affected multiple areas.
Rainfall was reported in Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mancherial, Nagarkurnool, Gadwal and Adilabad districts.
Four-day rain spell likely across Telangana
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said rainfall activity will continue for four days across Telangana due to the trough.
It warned of very heavy rainfall in Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Vikarabad, Gadwal and Nagarkurnool districts. Winds are likely to blow at speeds of 30–50 kmph during this period.
The IMD added that thunderstorms with lightning and isolated hailstorms are likely at some places. Farmers have been advised to remain alert.
