Telangana voter list verification showing duplicate and deceased entries

NIZAMABAD: Despite the State Election Commission’s latest revision, serious errors continue to mar the final draft of the voters’ list released on September 2. Names of deceased persons, duplicate entries, and migrants remain on rolls, leaving genuine voters frustrated.

In Mahbubnagar district, several discrepancies have been reported. At Polkampally, one woman’s name appeared as “A” with her father’s name printed as “Sha.” In Rusumpalli of Gandeed mandal, 46 names of deceased persons were included out of 1,200 votes. In Pothulamadugu panchayat, 20 names of dead voters and 15 wrongly entered names were found. In Chagadona of Gattu mandal, the name “Ashok” was misprinted as “Anokku.” Similar mistakes surfaced in Vangoor, Peddakothapalli, Kollapur and Kalwakurthy mandals of Nagarkurnool district.

The situation is no better in Nizamabad. In Marampalli village of Donkeshwar mandal, one voter, Hemant Kumar, was allotted three votes in the same ward. Ten dead voters’ names were not deleted. In Annaram, six people were listed twice.

Residents urged booth-level officers to conduct thorough door-to-door verification and remove names of the dead, migrants, and duplicate voters.
