Hyderabad: International Geo Diversity Day 2024 was observed with a ‘Geo Heritage Trail’ in Hyderabad on Sunday. Deccan Heritage Academy Trust (DHAT) collaborated with retired officials from the Geological Survey of India and civil society groups to organize it.

‘Geo Heritage Trail’ was followed by a talk on ‘Geo Diversity’ which saw enthusiastic participation from Deccan Heritage Academy, GSI, Save Rocks, Salarjung Museum, Kotha Telangana Charitra Brundam (KTCB) and Forum for a Better Hyderabad.

As part of the trail, the participants were given a guided tour of Fakhruddin Gutta (Khaja Hills), Khajaguda. During the talk on Geo Diversity, several speakers called on the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government to ensure the protection of geo diversity sites for future generations.
