Telangana braces for storms, hail from February 22

HYDERABAD: Telangana is set to receive its first spell of unseasonal rains and thunderstorms this year, with scattered storms forecast across several districts from February 22.
On February 22, scattered thunderstorms are expected in the north and east Telangana belt, covering districts from Adilabad to Mulugu via Jagitial and Mancherial.
From February 23 to 24, scattered storms are likely across central, eastern and southern parts of the state. Cities and towns including Hyderabad, Warangal, Siddipet, Khammam, Karimnagar, Suryapet and Bhadrachalam may witness rainfall activity during this period.
Hailstorms are likely at a few places, according to the forecast update.
Rainfall accumulation of 20–40 mm is expected at isolated locations.
Farmers have been advised to take precautions to protect standing crops and plan agricultural activities to minimise potential damage.
A clearer update incorporating any changes in the forecast is expected on February 20.
