HYDERABAD: Telangana is likely to witness a sharp increase in thunderstorm activity from June 1 as summer conditions begin to weaken across the state, according to a weather update issued on Saturday.

Thunderstorm activity expected across several districts

The update said thunderstorms are expected to become more frequent in north, central and western districts of Telangana over the coming days. The weather system is expected to bring a gradual decline in daytime temperatures across the state.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperatures are likely to fall to 36-38°C from June 1, while north and east Telangana may record temperatures between 40°C and 42°C, accompanied by regular thunderstorm activity.

Further cooling likely after June 5

Weather conditions are expected to improve further after June 5. Hyderabad may see temperatures settle around 35-36°C, while north and east Telangana could record temperatures between 38°C and 39°C.

The forecast indicates that recurring thunderstorms could provide relief from the intense summer heat that has affected several parts of the state in recent weeks.

Monsoon expected during second week of June

The southwest monsoon is expected to reach Telangana during the second week of June, according to the update.

Meteorologists are expected to monitor developments over the next few days, with further weather advisories likely as monsoon conditions strengthen across the region.
