Scattered thunderstorms likely in nine Telangana districts over next two hours
HYDERABAD: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday forecast isolated to scattered thunderstorms across several districts of Telangana over the next two hours, indicating unstable weather conditions in parts of the state.
The districts likely to witness thunderstorm activity include Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal and Narayanpet.
Officials said moderate cloud formation has developed over northern and southern Telangana regions, which could trigger brief spells of rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in isolated pockets.
Residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to avoid open spaces during lightning activity and take precautions while travelling. Farmers and those engaged in outdoor work were also asked to remain alert to sudden weather changes.
Hyderabad, however, is expected to remain largely dry during the forecast period, though some parts of the city may witness cloudy conditions.
The latest alert comes amid fluctuating pre-monsoon weather patterns across Telangana, with several districts recording evening thunderstorms and temperature drops over the past few days.
