Weather turns volatile as thunderstorms spread across Telangana

HYDERABAD: Intense thunderstorms were reported across parts of Hyderabad and adjoining districts on Wednesday evening, with weather activity expected to expand into several Telangana districts over the next few hours.
Storm activity intensifies in western Hyderabad
According to a thunderstorm alert issued at 17.25 IST, scattered intense thunderstorms were active over Yadadri-Bhongir, Rangareddy and Sangareddy districts. The weather system is expected to extend to Medak, Siddipet and Jangaon within the next two to three hours.
Isolated storms likely in northern districts
Isolated thunderstorms were also forecast over Hanamkonda, Narayanpet, Vikarabad, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Jagtial and Peddapalli during the next two hours.
The alert indicated that residents in these districts could experience brief spells of rain, thunderstorm activity and gusty conditions.
Hyderabad storms expected to weaken
In Hyderabad, thunderstorms were reported over Patancheru, Lingampally, Ramachandrapuram and Ameenpur. The ongoing storm activity is expected to weaken and gradually reduce within 30 to 40 minutes, according to the alert.
Authorities have not reported any major weather-related disruptions so far. Residents have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorm activity and avoid unnecessary travel during intense spells of rain and lightning.
