TGIIC proposes 27,500 acres for Telangana industries

Telangana : Telangana is planning large-scale land acquisition across the state to facilitate industrial development, with the process having begun in 22 districts.
The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) proposed the acquisition of more than 27,500 acres to the revenue department between December 2023 and June 2026. During the same period, it acquired more than 8,080 acres.
Hyderabad region sees strong demand for industrial land
Demand for industrial land has risen sharply in areas around Hyderabad. Despite high land prices, manufacturing, e-commerce and technology companies are competing for space in these locations.
Investments are also coming from companies supplying components to defence and aerospace firms, besides those in pharmaceuticals, plastics and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
E-commerce companies are setting up large warehouses, while major firms are lining up to establish data centres.
As a result, TGIIC is focusing on acquiring larger parcels in districts surrounding Hyderabad and those close to the state capital. The corporation is acquiring more than 10,000 acres in Vikarabad and Rangareddy districts alone, indicating the demand for land in the region.
TGIIC hands over 2,400 acres to companies
Between December 2023 and June 2026, more than 1,140 companies came forward to set up industries in Telangana. Together, they proposed investments of more than ₹94,000 crore.
TGIIC handed over 2,400 acres to these companies. The firms that received land from the government have proposed creating employment for 85,000 people as part of their investment plans.
Rangareddy district topped the list in industrial investments, followed by Nalgonda, Sangareddy, Medchal and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
The pharmaceuticals and chemicals sectors attracted the highest investments, followed by solar and other renewable energy, industrial parks, IT buildings, food processing and engineering.
