Telangana govt clears techno-cultural festival, sanctions ₹55 lakh

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has approved the organisation of a unique techno-cultural festival titled “Telangana-North East India Connect: Techno-Cultural Festival Cultural Sovereignty Through Cinema.”
Roads, Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the government sanctioned ₹55 lakh for the event, which aims to promote Telangana as a hub for art, culture, and cinema.
According to G.O.Rt.No.1551, the state government accorded permission to the Telangana Film Development Corporation Limited (TGFDC) to incur an expenditure of ₹55,00,000 towards organising the event. The funds will be met from the corporation’s existing budget.
Cultural exchange through cinema in Hyderabad this month
The organizers will hold the festival, scheduled for November 2025, at Prasads Multiplex and the HITEX Convention Centre in Hyderabad. The order directed the Managing Director of TGFDC to take necessary further action for the conduct of the event.
The Telangana government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, is hosting the event to strengthen cultural and creative collaboration between Telangana and the northeastern states. “The government’s goal is to make Telangana the centre for art, culture and cinematography in India. This festival will strengthen cultural and creative ties with the northeastern states,” said Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
The festival will feature national award-winning film screenings, panel discussions, and cultural performances, highlighting Telangana’s growing prominence as a hub for cultural exchange and creative innovation.
