Hyderabad: On January 27, 2025, the Telangana State Commissioner of Food Safety’s Task Force suspended the license of the Central Kitchen operated by Sri Vasista Educational Trust for Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutes in Khanamet, Madhapur.

The suspension followed an inspection on January 24, 2025, which revealed repeated violations of food safety regulations. The Commissioner’s Task Force stated in a social media post that the establishment had failed to comply with food safety standards despite prior warnings from inspections in June 2024.

The inspection team found several serious violations, including the absence of necessary water analysis reports, pest control records, and FSSAI certificates for employees. The kitchen was found in unsanitary conditions, with improperly cleaned refrigerators, wet areas on the floor, and food waste scattered around. Broken drains without proper meshes and damaged walls with grease buildup were also observed.

Additionally, the exhaust system was dirty, dustbins were left open, and doors failed to seal, allowing pests to enter. Grills between the walls and ceiling were missing protective meshes. Unlabeled packed Nut Meg was found, and several food items were improperly stored on the floor instead of pallets.

A batch of Kaju Nuka (125 kg), which expired on January 17, 2025, was seized. Live cockroaches and rodent feces were found in the storage area, and no rodent traps were in place. The walls of the storage area were also in poor condition. Food handlers were observed working without the required protective gear, such as gloves and aprons.

Furthermore, the kitchen’s 12 transport vehicles were not included in the FSSAI license, and there was no separate FSSAI license for them.

In response to these violations, the Task Force suspended the kitchen’s operating license under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
