Telangana Govt Launches Statewide Summer Sports Camps From May 1 To June 6

Hyderabad: The Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) has announced that its annual summer coaching camps will be conducted from May 1 to June 6 across all stadiums in Hyderabad and the 33 districts of Telangana.

The camps are being organized in collaboration with the Telangana Sports Authority to promote greater participation in sports among youth, students, and athletes. To mark the launch, SATS Chairman K. Shivsena Reddy, Government Sports Advisor A.P. Jitender Reddy, and Vice Chairman and Managing Director Soni Baladevi took part in a poster release and sports equipment distribution event on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Shivsena Reddy stated that the camps are being held under the guidance of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and are designed to increase access and interest in sports across the state. Unlike previous years, the training programs have been expanded to cover more sporting disciplines and will now be held not only in district headquarters but also in several urban areas to reach a wider population.

In addition to offering coaching across various sports, this year’s camps will include free yoga and Zumba sessions for parents and guardians. Free special coaching will also be provided for para sports, ensuring inclusive participation.

The L.B. Stadium will host training in a wide range of disciplines including cricket, football, karate, skating, boxing, gymnastics, wrestling, tennis, yoga, Wushu, kabaddi, handball, volleyball, swimming, badminton, table tennis, fencing, powerlifting, athletics, weightlifting, pickleball, softball, sepaktakraw, baseball, mallakhamb, chess, and carrom.

At the Indoor Stadium in Saroornagar, sessions will be held in para athletics, kabaddi, cricket, gymnastics, badminton, and sitting volleyball. The Cycling Velodrome will feature cycling, wrestling, skating, karate, yoga, volleyball, and pickleball. The Sports Complex in Gachibowli will offer training in swimming, badminton, skating, wrestling, athletics, football, boxing, basketball, karate, cricket, yoga, aerobics, and weight management.

Gymkhana Grounds will conduct coaching in athletics, volleyball, basketball, boxing, hockey, cricket, football, handball, powerlifting, skating, kabaddi, lawn tennis, tennis, and kho-kho. The Shooting Range at the University of Hyderabad will be used for shooting practice, while water sports such as canoeing, kayaking, and rowing will take place at Hussainsagar Lake. The KVBR Indoor Stadium in Yousufguda will host sessions in gymnastics, badminton, basketball, karate, wrestling, skating, boxing, table tennis, and wheelchair basketball.
