HYDERABAD: The Telangana Directorate of School Education has made elaborate arrangements for the SSC Public Examinations scheduled from March 14 to April 16, 2026.
The examinations will be held daily from 9.30 to 12.30 IST. Certain science papers will have shorter durations.
A total of 5,28,239 students will appear for the examinations. This includes 2,67,954 boys and 2,60,285 girls.
Of the total candidates, 5,17,727 are regular students while 10,512 are once-failed candidates appearing again.
Management-wise distribution of candidates
According to officials, 2,07,573 students are from government schools, 60,139 from welfare schools, and 2,50,015 from private schools.
In addition, 1,408 Children with Special Needs (CwSN) will write the examination.
The exams will be conducted in 2,676 centres across 11,674 schools in the state.
Authorities said facilities such as drinking water, lighting, fans, toilets and furniture have been arranged at all centres. Each centre will also have an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) with ORS packets and essential medicines to handle student health emergencies.
QR codes and early reporting guidelines
For the first time, QR codes printed on hall tickets will help students locate their examination centres.
Hall tickets are available on the official website and can also be downloaded through WhatsApp by sending a message to the MeeSeva number.
Students have been advised to visit their exam centres one day in advance and reach the venue by 8.30 IST on exam days. Entry will be allowed only until 9.35 IST, including a five-minute grace period.
Strict measures to ensure fair conduct
The department has issued strict guidelines to prevent malpractice during the examinations.
Students will not be allowed to wear school uniforms to avoid identification. Electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators and smartwatches are strictly prohibited.
Safe deposit arrangements will be made at entrance gates for personal belongings.
Candidates have also been warned not to write their names or hall ticket numbers outside prescribed areas in the answer booklets. Tearing answer sheets or other forms of malpractice will invite strict action.
To curb irregularities, the department has deployed 144 flying squad teams and sitting squads.
Police security has been arranged at all centres. Section 144 will be enforced around examination centres, and nearby Xerox shops will remain closed during exam hours.
The department has also coordinated with Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) to increase bus services to examination centres.
Round-the-clock control rooms have been established at the Directorate and district offices to address grievances.
Officials said the arrangements, including digital initiatives and strict monitoring, aim to ensure the smooth conduct of the SSC examinations for more than five lakh students across Telangana.
