HYDERABAD: The issue of defection by several Telangana MLAs has once again become a major political talking point, with the Supreme Court advising expeditious hearing of the pending case. Following the court’s direction, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar has begun accelerating the process.

Fresh notices to two MLAs

Officials said the Speaker has issued fresh notices to two MLAs who are yet to file their affidavits. Kadiyam Srihari met the Speaker and sought additional time to submit his explanation.

Nagender holds internal discussions

However, sources said Danam Nagender has not made any such request. He reportedly spent two days in Delhi, where he met senior party leaders. After returning to the state, he also attended key internal meetings.

Consultation with minister

As part of preparing his response to the notices, Nagender is learnt to have held a meeting lasting over an hour with Assembly affairs minister Sridhar Babu. Sources said he discussed points advised by party leaders. Assembly secretary Narsimhacharyulu also attended the meeting.
