HYDERABAD: Raja Singh Seeks SIT Probe into Attack on Gau Raksha Activist Sonu Singh
HYDERABAD: Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh Lodh has written to the Director General of Police, Telangana, demanding a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged attack on Gau Raksha activist Sonu Singh and the misuse of cow protection activities for extortion.
In his letter, Raja Singh said media reports and local sources had indicated that a person named Ibrahim was allegedly involved in illegal cow trafficking. The MLA stated that Sonu Singh had demanded ₹5 lakh from Ibrahim in connection with these activities.
Following a dispute over this financial demand, Ibrahim and his associates allegedly attacked Singh. Raja Singh said the incident reflects the presence of criminal elements operating under the guise of Gau Raksha, which he said tarnishes the image of genuine organisations working for cow protection.
“The misuse of Gau Raksha for extortion by certain groups is bringing disrepute to sincere cow protection organisations,” the MLA said, urging police to investigate both the attack and the alleged extortion racket.
He requested the Telangana DGP to constitute an SIT to ensure an impartial and comprehensive probe into the case.
