Telangana SIR: Over 9 Lakh Claims, Objections Filed
HYDERABAD: Telangana has received 9,07,292 claims and objections during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, according to state election authorities.
The authorities published the draft electoral rolls on August 17, 2026. They made the rolls available at the offices of the respective Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and on the Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana website. They also uploaded the list of Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) electors.
Telangana SIR: Claims and objections open until September 16
Electors can file claims and objections from August 17 to September 16. Authorities will issue notices and dispose of the claims and objections until October 15.
As of September 1, officials had generated 92,88,112 notices. Only seven notices remained to be generated.
Officials had delivered 31,74,952 notices to electors. AEROs had also conducted hearings for 1,94,737 notices.
Officials will deliver the remaining notices in phases and conduct hearings within the Election Commission of India’s deadline.
A total of 1,973 AEROs and 119 EROs are handling the SIR exercise across Telangana.
Form 6, 7 and 8 applications received
Of the 9,07,292 claims and objections, electors submitted 3,94,517 Form 6 applications for new voter enrolment.
Another 6,346 applications came through Form 6A for overseas voter enrolment.
Officials received 48,752 Form 7 applications seeking deletion or raising objections to entries in the draft rolls.
Electors submitted 4,57,677 Form 8 applications for corrections in the draft electoral rolls.
Special SIR campaigns on September 5-6 and 12-13
The election authorities will hold special campaigns at every polling station in Telangana to help citizens file claims and objections.
The first campaign will take place on September 5 and 6. The second campaign will follow on September 12 and 13.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) will remain available at designated polling stations during the campaigns.
Electors can check the draft rolls and submit Forms 6, 7 and 8 at these locations. They can also file claims and objections through the regular process at ERO offices.
During the campaigns, BLOs will review the draft rolls with BLAs and identify errors or corrections. They will then take action according to Election Commission guidelines.
The authorities have urged all eligible electors to use the special campaign days to verify their details and submit claims or objections, if required.
