Telangana announces seven day Sankranti holidays for schools
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has announced seven-day Sankranti holidays for all educational institutions in the state, offering relief to students and parents ahead of the festival.
Holidays from January 10 to 16
The School Education Department said all schools and educational institutions across Telangana will remain closed from January 10 to January 16 as part of the Sankranti break.
Students plan travel to native places
With the holiday schedule confirmed, students have begun making travel plans to visit their native places. Parents also welcomed the decision, citing the importance of extended family time during Sankranti.
Orders issued by School Education Director
The Director of School Education issued formal orders in this regard. While Dasara remains the state’s biggest festival, the government has also continued the practice of granting extended holidays for Sankranti, officials said.
