Telangana sanctions ₹612.5 crore loan to Hyderabad water board for infrastructure works

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has sanctioned loans totalling ₹612.5 crore to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) for key infrastructure and development projects.
According to Government Order (GO) 581, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department accorded administrative sanction for the release of ₹250 crore under the State Budget as a loan to HMWS&SB for the Sunkishala intake project under the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project.
In a separate order, GO 582, the government sanctioned ₹362.5 crore as loans to HMWS&SB for various development works across its service areas.
The releases were made following Budget Release Orders issued by the Finance (DCM) Department.
The funds are expected to support the implementation of water supply infrastructure projects and other development initiatives undertaken by the board.
