All depots across the state are being mobilised as part of preparations for the agitation. Employee unions said there has been no formal engagement from the government so far, despite repeated representations.

Talks with minister raise hopes of last-minute solution

A key meeting between the Joint Action Committee (JAC) leaders, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and senior TGSRTC officials is likely to be held on April 21. Union leaders said the meeting could provide an opportunity for a breakthrough.

Employees are seeking immediate resolution of service-related issues along with the merger demand. They said the government has yet to initiate structured discussions, prompting the strike call.

Officials indicated that efforts are underway to avert disruption of public transport services, though no formal statement has been issued on negotiations.
