Telangana Revolutionary Revenue Act

Hyderabad: Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has given the nod for the promotion of Tahsildars to the cadre of Deputy Collectors. Ponguleti also announced that the New Revenue Act 2024 is in the pipeline and the state government may introduce it soon.

The minister made this announcement during a meeting held with 272 Special Grade Deputy Collectors and Deputy Collectors at the MCR HRD Centre on Sunday.

Deputy Collectors’ Association State president V. Lachi Reddy presented key issues concerning the Revenue Department. Encouraged by the positive response to the proposals, Reddy expressed his gratitude to the Revenue Minister.

Addressing the gathering of officials, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department Naveen Mittal would initiate a process for the resolution of item-wise issues of employees including promotions and the creation of (33) Selection Grade Deputy Collector posts.

He also said that 17 revenue officers of Additional Collector cadre will be given the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) rank. The government will promote nearly 50 Deputy Collectors to Special Grade Deputy Collector rank. If the government takes up the file and signs it 80 more Tahsildars may get promoted to the Deputy Collector rank.

The government is expected to create DRO posts in all the 33 districts of the state as the Minister said the appointments of revenue officers for each revenue village will make the process more transparent and efficient.
