Telangana revamps Hyderabad’s business hours, deets inside

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has revised the operating timings for various shops and establishments across Hyderabad. According to the official order released on Tuesday, the state government has permitted shops and establishments, including eateries, to remain open from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM every day of the year. This includes cloth stores, jewelry shops, supermarkets, electronic shops, cell phone shops, general stores, and book stalls.
Regarding liquor outlets, the order states that A4 liquor shops (wine shops) in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area and peripheral regions can now operate between 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
For establishments serving liquor, such as bars in GHMC and within a 5 km radius, the timings have also been extended. On weekdays (excluding Fridays and Saturdays), these establishments can operate from 10:00 AM to 12:00 midnight, while on weekends (Fridays and Saturdays), the timing has been set from 10:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
The government has also permitted hotels, restaurants, and other eateries in Telangana to remain open from 5:00 AM to 12:00 midnight. Recently, the government has further extended the timings for all eateries, including hotels, restaurants, dhabas, ice cream parlors, bakeries, tiffin centers, coffee shops, tea stalls, and pan shops, to operate until 1:00 AM every night.
Orders issued to police
The order has directed all police officers, including DCPs, ACPs, and SHOs (Law & Order and Traffic), in the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate limits to ensure that the managements of these shops and establishments adhere to the revised timings. Failure to comply with the instructions will result in action being taken against them as per the law, according to the police.
