11 Telangana residents rescued from Myanmar cyber scam camps return to India

HYDERABAD: Eleven residents of Telangana who were trapped in cybercrime camps in Myanmar’s Myawaddy region have safely returned to India with the assistance of the central and state governments.
Officials said the Indian Air Force operated a special flight on Thursday night (November 6) to repatriate Indian nationals stranded in Myanmar. The returnees were formally handed over to state representatives by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) at Greater Noida on Friday (November 7).
Rescued citizens from multiple Telangana districts
Of the rescued group, 11 are from Telangana, belonging to Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and other districts. Following verification by central authorities, the Telangana residents were handed over to officials from Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi.
State ensures safe return and stay
The Telangana government has arranged temporary accommodation for the returnees in New Delhi and organised their onward journey to Hyderabad on Friday night.
The repatriation follows coordinated efforts by the MEA, Indian embassies in Myanmar and Thailand, and the Telangana Information Centre in New Delhi.
The press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Telangana Information Centre said the government remains committed to assisting citizens stranded abroad under distressing circumstances.
