Yellow alert issued for several north and east districts
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for districts in northern and eastern Telangana, including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
In Adilabad, temperatures have already reached 38.5°C in the first week of March, signalling an early rise in summer heat. Residents said the heat becomes intense from 10 am, discouraging people from venturing outdoors during the afternoon.
Officials warned that heat conditions may intensify in the coming days. Doctors advised residents to drink at least five litres of water daily and wear cotton clothes to avoid heat-related illness.
