Telangana raises police recruitment age limit for Constable, SI posts

Telangana Police Recruitment Age Limit Raised

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has raised the maximum age limit for police recruitment by two years. The move will benefit more police job aspirants. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced the decision, according to the supplied material.

Maximum age raised for Constables and SIs

The maximum age for Constable recruitment is now 34 years. For SI recruitment, the new maximum age is 37 years.

The government took the decision after aspirants sought an age relaxation. Many candidates had prepared for police recruitment.

However, some faced the risk of becoming ineligible due to the earlier age limit. The new relaxation could now give them another chance to apply.

Aspirants had demanded age relaxation

Police recruitment remains a major issue among unemployed youth in Telangana. Aspirants have also sought more vacancies and changes in eligibility rules.

Meanwhile, a July 4 report quoted BRS working president K T Rama Rao on the issue. He said police job aspirants had sought an increase in the age limit. He had urged the government to set the limit at 36 years for Constables and 37 years for SIs.

However, the latest announcement reportedly sets the Constable age limit at 34 years. Therefore, candidates should check the final government order for the exact eligibility rules. The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board notification should also be checked before candidates apply.
