HYDERABAD: The Telangana Police on March 31, 2026 launched an AI-enabled official website of the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE Force), marking a step towards strengthening public participation and digital outreach in the fight against drug abuse.

Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy formally launched the platform in the presence of senior officials, including Sandeep Shandilya, Shika Goel and V.B. Kamalasan Reddy.

The website introduces an AI-driven ecosystem focused on prevention rather than post-incident enforcement. It includes tools such as “Sahay AI”, a chatbot for drug-related queries; “Shield AI”, a risk assessment tool for users; and “Mitra TG”, designed to help parents and teachers detect early signs of substance use among teenagers.

Officials said this is the first instance in India where a police initiative provides AI-based diagnostic tools for individuals, parents and educators. The services are available in English, Telugu, Hindi and Urdu.

Focus on prevention and rehabilitation alongside enforcement

The platform places equal emphasis on reducing both drug demand and supply. It aligns with government efforts to treat drug users as victims and support rehabilitation through a structured de-addiction ecosystem.

The website enables citizens to file complaints related to drug trafficking anonymously. It also provides access to verified rehabilitation centres and offers guidance for recovery.

Users can contribute to awareness campaigns by sharing creative content such as posters, videos and artwork. Educational institutions can request free awareness sessions, while corporates can support initiatives through corporate social responsibility programmes.

Platform aims to boost community participation in anti-drug efforts

Police officials said the initiative is designed to improve coordination between law enforcement and the public. The complaint module ensures confidentiality and enables quicker response to drug-related offences.

The website also features sections on crime trends, drug heat maps, major seizures, outreach programmes and volunteering opportunities.

Senior officials emphasised that tackling drug abuse requires collective responsibility involving citizens, parents, educational institutions and community organisations.

Telangana Police reiterated its commitment to safeguarding youth and building a drug-free society through technology driven solutions.
