Telangana police requests CBI to issue blue notice against former SIB chief Rao

Hyderabad: Telangana police sent a proposal to issue Blue notice against Prabhakar Rao Thatiparthi and Aruvela Shravan Kumar Rao who were accused in Phone tapping case.
The police who are investigating the phone tapping case arrested several police officials in connection with the case- Praneeth Rao Dugyala, Bhujanga Rao Nayini, Thirupathanna Mekala and Radhakishan Rao Potlapally. However the police couldn’t arrest two accused Prabhakar Rao Thatiparthi and Aruvela Shravan Kumar Rao.
On Friday all the arrested accused were produced before the local court which ordered them to prepare their defences with regard to the case. Further the police submitted that they couldn’t execute the non bailable warrants against the other two accused Prabhakar Rao Thatiparthi and Aruvela Shravan Kumar Rao. Subsequently, the local court which is hearing the case on Friday directed the police “to file the report of execution of NBWs of Prabhakar Rao Thatiparthi and Aruvela Shravan Kumar Rao on the next date of hearing without fail”.
According to Telangana police sources “Efforts are on to arrest the absconding accused persons Prabhakar Rao Thatiparthi and Aruvela Shravan Kumar Rao who have left the country and taking shelter in USa in gross violation of the purpose of their visas”. Further police said they have sent a proposal to CBI, New Delhi for issuing of blue notice against both the absconding accused persons through the Interpol which is under process at CBI, informed court.
It is pertinent to note that earlier, Former IPS officer Thatiparthi Prabakar Rao who is facing charges in phone tapping case wrote a letter to Assistant commissioner of police, Jubilee Hills, informing that his return to India is being postponed due to his ill health.
Rao in his letter dated June 23, 2024, stated that in addition to his existing problem of malignant cancer he had developed high Blood Pressure due to the stress after a case was registered against him. He termed the case was filed against him ‘by making wild and false allegations’.
Further he alleged that by constant deliberate leaks to the media, his character and reputation was being assassinated even prior to making him an accused in this case.
He assured to cooperate and answer all queries in person as soon as his health improves and upon his return to India. Meanwhile he said “I am prepared to assist in the investigation in any kind of questioning over video conferencing or teleconferencing till the time I return to India”.
