Telangana Government Sets Up Nri Advisory Committee To Support Gulf Migrant Workers

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has announced the formation of a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Advisory Committee to focus on the welfare of Gulf migrant workers and create a detailed NRI policy.

This step is in line with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s broader efforts to enhance assistance for overseas workers from the state.

A government order issued on the matter outlined that the government has taken steps to mitigate the challenges faced by Telangana residents working in Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The order stated that specific welfare measures will be implemented for these workers.

The government has constituted an Advisory Committee to study the issues related to Gulf migrant workers’ welfare and to draft a comprehensive NRI policy. The committee will serve for a term of two years from the date of the order.

Dr. B.M. Vinod Kumar, IFS (Retd.), has been appointed as the chairman, while Mandha Bheem Reddy will serve as the vice chairman.

In addition to the chairman and vice chairman, the committee includes several prominent members. Among them are Aadi Srinivas, Government Whip and MLA of Vemulawada; T. Jeevan Reddy, former MLC of Jagtial; Medipalli Satyam, MLA of Choppadandi; Dr. R. Bhupati Reddy, MLA of Nizamabad Rural; and E. Anil Kumar, Chairman of the Telangana State Minorities Development Corporation (TGMDC).

Other members of the committee include Singireddy Naresh Reddy, Lizy Joseph, Chennamaneni Srinivas Rao, Kottala Satyam Nara Goud from Dubai, Guggilla Ravindhar, Nangi Devender, and Swadesh Parki Pandla. The committee’s member secretary will be the Joint Secretary to Government (Protocol), General Administration Department.

The General Administration (NRI) Department will be responsible for coordinating the committee’s activities and ensuring the implementation of the government’s decisions.
