Telangana sees sharp drop in NHM funds for 2025–26

HYDERABAD: Telangana received Rs 1,110.43 crore under the National Health Mission (NHM) in 2024-25. However, in 2025-26, funds sharply declined, with a provisional release of Rs 240.14 crore up to October 31, according to data revealed in Lok Sabha. The Union Health Ministry disclosed details of Central funds allocated to Telangana under key healthcare schemes, but its response to questions on alleged state mismanagement and critical faculty vacancies remained unanswered.

According to the data, Telangana received Rs 1,110.43 crore under NHM in 2024-25 and Rs 240.14 crore provisionally for 2025-26 (up to October 31).

For Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, allocations were Rs 218.29 crore in 2024-25 and Rs 56.85 crore so far in 2025-26, with funds set aside for hospital claim settlements.
