BJP leaders Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay takes charge in Modi’s cabinet
Secunderabad: Two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) elected members of Parliament(MPs) from Telangana took charge to their cabinet positions on Thursday. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy took charge as the Minister of Coal and Mines and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay took charge as Union Minister of State for Home affairs.
BJP Telangana state president, G Kishan Reddy, the 63 year old leader has also served as Union minister for Culture and Tourism in the previous cabinet and has now retained his position, however with a different portfolio after winning the Secunderabad MP seat in the recently concluded parliamentary elections 2024. Former Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi handed over the charge to G Kishan Reddy in the presence of Minister of State, Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey.
Interacting with the media after assuming charge of office, G Kishan Reddy expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with this responsibility to serve as the Union Minister of Coal and Mines and giving the opportunity to serve the people of Bharat. He stated that both the ministries of Coal and Mines will work with determination, devotion, dedication, honesty and transparency towards making India AtmaNirbhar (self-reliant) in the coal and mining sector.
Bandi Sanjay assumes charge
Meanwhile Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay, who is also serving as BJP National general secretary took charge as Union minister of state for Home affairs. He will be acting as a deputy to Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home affairs.
Bandi Sanjay, who won from the Karimnagar segment is a local leader, who rose from the level of a volunteer. Now he is inducted into the Modi 3.0 cabinet. Bandi Sanjay Kumar has been serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Karimnagar constituency since 2019. He became the state president of the BJP in Telangana in 2023 later handed over the charge to G Kishan Reddy.
