Telangana hikes MeeSeva service charges

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has increased service charges at MeeSeva centres across the state, raising fees by nearly 50 per cent for all services.
The government issued an order formalising the revision, which applies to a range of citizen services delivered through MeeSeva centres.
Certificates see revised pricing across categories
The fee for issuing certificates such as income, caste and residence has been increased to ₹80. These certificates are widely used for education, employment and welfare scheme applications.
Birth certificate charges also revised upward
The charge for issuing a birth certificate has been raised to ₹62. Birth certificates are essential documents for identity, school admissions and government benefits.
Revision affects routine public service access
MeeSeva centres provide a range of government-to-citizen services, including certificates, licences and utility-related applications. The fee hike is expected to affect citizens who rely on these centres for routine documentation.
