Telangana MBBS Counselling 2026: Web Option Dates, Fees and Rules Explained
HYDERABAD: The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) on Friday evening released the final merit list for candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses under the competent authority quota for the 2026-27 academic year.
The university also invited web options for the first phase of MBBS counselling. The process will cover seats in government and private unaided minority and non-minority medical colleges across Telangana.
Web options open from August 29 to September 1
Candidates included in the final merit list can enter their college preferences from 6am on August 29 to noon on September 1, 2026.
Candidates can submit their choices through the admission portal, tsmedadm.tsche.in. There is no limit on the number of colleges they can select. They can list as many colleges as they are willing to join, in their preferred order.
KNRUHS advised candidates to read the prospectus, admission rules, government orders and counselling notification before selecting colleges. Candidates should also save their choices and take a printout of the submitted options.
Candidates who skip web-option entry in the first phase cannot participate in option entry in later phases. The university said this rule aims to prevent candidates from blocking seats.
The same restriction applies to candidates who receive an MBBS seat based on their choices but do not join the allotted college. KNRUHS advised candidates to select only colleges they genuinely intend to join.
OTP required for web options
The system will send a six-character OTP to the candidate’s registered mobile number during web-option entry. Candidates will receive seat-allotment information through SMS.
After receiving the allotment message, candidates must log in to the admission portal and check their allotment details.
Candidates who secure a seat must pay a ₹12,000 university fee through the online payment gateway and download the allotment order.
For government medical colleges, candidates must pay tuition fees as specified on the respective college website. Private medical college students must pay fees according to government-prescribed rules.
Candidates must report to allotted college
Candidates must report to the principal of the allotted medical college within the date and time mentioned in the allotment order. They must submit their original certificates and required bonds, pay the applicable fees and complete the admission process.
Failure to join within the prescribed deadline will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat. Such candidates will also lose the chance to enter web options in later counselling phases.
The respective medical college will conduct final verification of original certificates. If officials find discrepancies, KNRUHS will cancel the provisional allotment and take action under university rules.
KNRUHS has also published the seat matrix for the first phase. Candidates can check the available seats before submitting their choices.
The university advised candidates to regularly check the KNRUHS website for further counselling updates.
