47 Maoists surrender in Hyderabad, DGP appeals

HYDERABAD: A large group of Maoists surrendered before Telangana Police in Hyderabad on Sunday. They laid down arms in the presence of Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy.
As many as 47 Maoists from Chhattisgarh surrendered before the police and handed over 34 weapons. The surrendered cadres will be presented before the media shortly, officials said.
DGP appeals for mainstream integration
Addressing the development, DGP Shivadhar Reddy urged the remaining Maoists to surrender and join the mainstream. He said Maoism is “almost at an end” and called on cadres to reintegrate into society.
