Hyderabad: Three senior Telangana State Committee members of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) are expected to surrender before Director General of Police (DGP) Shivadhar Reddy on Friday at 4 pm in Hyderabad.

The leaders — Kukuti Venkati alias Vikas, Mogilicherla Raju alias CNM Chandu, and Gangavva alias Sony — are likely to formally surrender as part of the state government’s rehabilitation initiative for left-wing extremists.

Police sources said the trio had been active in the Maoist movement for several years and operated in various Telangana districts. Their surrender is considered a significant development in the state’s anti-insurgency operations.

Officials said the surrender ceremony will take place at the DGP’s office.
