TJBL semi-finals: Vikarabad Mambas, Nizam Royals and Warangal Stallions reach finals
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Junior Basketball League (TJBL) brought high-energy action to the Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium in Yousufguda, Hyderabad, on Saturday. Throughout the day, teams fiercely competed for spots in the finals. These second semi-final matches featured thrilling games and standout individual efforts across all categories.
To open the evening, the Vikarabad Mambas dominated the Under-15 Girls semi-final. They beat the Nalgonda Speed Strikers 77-33. The Mambas set the tone early and never let up. Their teamwork and aggressive offense secured the win.
Following that game, the Vikarabad Mambas faced the Warangal Stallions in the Under-15 Boys match. The Mambas won 89-82 in a high-scoring game. Both teams fought for every basket. In the final minutes, the Mambas stayed calm and clinched their place in the final.
Later, the Nizam Royals faced the Ranga Reddy Raptors in the Under-18 Girls semi-final. The Royals won 89-71. Their steady play and focus earned them a spot in the championship round.
Capping off the semi-finals, the Under-18 Boys category saw the closest contest of the evening. The Warangal Stallions edged out the Nalgonda Speed Strikers 73-69. The score stayed close until the last moments. The Stallions pulled ahead at the finish and took the victory.
Highlighting individual efforts, several players delivered standout performances throughout the semi-finals. Charitha led the Vikarabad Mambas with 34 points in the Under-15 Girls match, while Aaradhya added 24. In the Under-15 Boys game, Krish scored an outstanding 56 points for the Mambas, and Sidharth contributed 17. Warangal Stallions’ Abhiram put up 41 points. For the Under-18 Girls, Diya and Bhavana paced the Nizam Royals with 23 and 22 points. Thanushvi scored 23 for the Ranga Reddy Raptors. In the Under-18 Boys game, Reyhan of the Nalgonda Speed Strikers scored 35 points, while Shreetej and Aadvik combined for 59 for the Warangal Stallions.
