Telangana records over 99% pass in ICSE, ISC exams; girls outperform boys
HYDERABAD: Telangana recorded pass percentages above 99 in both ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) examinations, the results of which were declared at 11.00 IST on Thursday.
Girls outperformed boys in both categories. More than 6,500 students from the state appeared for the exams.
In ICSE, conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, 5,601 students from 45 schools appeared. This included 2,838 boys and 2,763 girls.
A total of 5,590 students passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 99.8. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 99.93, while boys stood at 99.68.
Only 11 students failed to clear the examination, including nine boys and two girls.
ISC results mirror ICSE trend with high success rate
In ISC (Class XII), 930 students from 19 schools appeared for the examination. This included 441 boys and 489 girls.
Of them, 922 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 99.14.
Girls again outperformed boys, recording a pass percentage of 99.39, compared to 98.87 among boys. Eight students did not qualify, including five boys and three girls.
Category-wise data shows consistent performance across groups
Category-wise data from Telangana showed that 1,535 Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates appeared for ICSE and recorded a pass percentage of 99.80. Meanwhile, 3,712 candidates from the General category achieved a pass percentage of 99.81.
In ISC, 156 OBC candidates recorded a pass percentage of 98.72. Among General category students, 738 candidates achieved a pass percentage of 99.19.
