Telangana to host 72nd edition of Miss World pageant in May
Hyderabad: As Miss World is set to return to India, Telangana will proudly host the 72nd Miss World pageant in 2025. The global event will run from May 7 to May 31 in the Telugu state which has a rich legacy and modern vibe. The Telangana government is getting ready to welcome the participating nations with the slogan, “Telangana, Zarur Aana.”
The opening ceremony, closing ceremony, and grand finale will be held in Hyderabad. The upcoming pageant follows the grand success of the 71st Miss World event held in New Delhi and Mumbai.
The official announcement was made by Julia Morley CBE, chairman and CEO of Miss World Ltd, alongside Smita Sabharwal, Secretary to the Government of Telangana, Tourism, Culture, Heritage and Youth Affairs Department.
“We are delighted to bring the 72nd Miss World Festival to Telangana, a state that beautifully represents its rich culture, innovation, and hospitality. Partnering with the Telangana government allows us to showcase its incredible heritage and dynamic growth to a global audience,” Julia Morley said.
Welcoming the Miss World Organization to Telangana, Smita Sabharwal said, “Telangana is proud to announce that it will be hosting the 72nd Miss World, welcoming the world to witness a land where beauty is not just what meets the eye; it is what resonates with it’s land, people, culture and traditions”.

The 72nd edition of the beauty pageant will see participants from over 120 countries. The current Miss World Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic will crown her successor at the dazzling event. The event will be live streamed on various channels as well as the pageant’s official website, Miss World.
